'Ranam' Making Brisk Progress
The shooting for a song sequence for Etharam Films, 'Ranam,' produced by Pokuri Babu Rao is currently in progress at Sarathi Studios. There are six songs in the film and the song that is currently being shot is the fifth song. 'Ranam' marks the debut of noted choreographer Rajasekhar as director and stars Gopichand and Kamna Jethmalani in lead roles.
'Asadhyudu' Shooting Complete But For Two Songs
The entire shooting of Maharshi Cinema's 'Asadhyudu' is complete but for two songs. Produced by Valluripalli Ramesh and directed by debutante Anil Krishna, the film stars Nandamuri Kalyanram and Diya in lead roles. It has music by Chakri, editing by Goutam Raju, action by Vikram-Dharma and cinematography by Bhupathi. Valluripalli Ramesh is geared up to release the music of 'Asadhyudu' in January and the film in February.

'Shock' Music To Release On Jan. 11
The music of 'Shock', starring Ravi Teja and Jyotika, is all set to release on January 11, while the movie is slated for a January 26 release. It is reliably learnt that many top Bollywood and Tollywood personalities would attend the music release. With Suresh Kondeti at the helm it is no wonder if the event turns out to be a star-studded fare. Directed by debutante Harish Shankar, the film has music by Ajay-Atul and also stars Tabu in an important role.
NBK-ASRK Combo Songs To Be Shot In Spain
The next schedule of Nandamuri Balakrishna's latest film, directed by AS Ravikumar Chowdary and produced by Ambika Krishna, will be held from January 3 in Hyderabad. Some chasing scenes will be filmed. Three songs will be filmed in Spain starting February 1. Two songs will be filmed on NBK and Tanushree Dutta, while one song will feature NBK and Sada. The shooting will be completed by February 2006 and the movie is expected for a release in either the last week of March or the first week of April 2006.
'Kokila' To Hit The Screens On Jan. 12
'Kokila', starring Raja, Siva Balaji, Rajeev Kanakala, Saloni, Archana and Suhasini, is all set to hit the screens on 12th January. Made under the banner of Sri Jyothi Creations, the film is directed by late Konda, presented by Smt. Jyothi Peddireddy and produced by G. Ravikumar Reddy with music by MS Madhukar. The audio of the film, released recently through Aditya Music, evoked a good response.

'Sri Ramadasu' Music To Release On Jan. 14
The music of Nagarjuna's much awaited devotional film 'Sri Ramadasu' is all set to release on January 14, on the eve of Sankranthi, in Bhadrachalam. This was announced by the producer Konda Krishnam Raju at a press meet held at Annapoorna Studios this morning. Made under the banner of Aditya Productions, the film is presented by M. Raghavendra Rao (chairman and managing director of the Daspalla Group of hotels) and directed by veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao. 'Sri Ramadasu' has music by MM Keeravani, cinematography by S. Gopal Reddy and art by Bhaskara Raju.
Nitin-Shankar Combo Titled 'Ram'
Nitin's next film, produced by N Sudhakar Reddy under the banner of Sree Venkataramana Pictures and directed by N Shankar, is finally titled 'Ram'. The final schedule of the film will be held from January 2 to 10 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The climax will be filmed. Sudhakar Reddy is planning for a February 10 release.
'Happy' Releasing On Jan. 26
Allu Arjun's latest film 'Happy' is scheduled for a January 26 release, while the music will be released by Pawan Kalyan on 1st January, 2006 through Aditya Music. Made under the banner of Geeta Arts, the film is produced by Allu Aravind and directed by Karunakaran with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. A couple of months back we informed you that publicity designer-turned-director Ramesh Varma's next is titled 'Raju'. Now it is learnt that Gopichand has been signed to play the lead. G. 'Kitakitalu' To Commence Filming From Jan. 16
Noted director EVV Satyanarayana's next venture 'Kitakitalu' is all set to commence shooting from January 16. He is planning to release it in May 2006. The female leads will be played by Geeta Singh and Madhu Sharma. Six writers - EVV, Sateesh, Nivas, Nagaraju, Balaram and Muralimohan Rao - are writing the dialogues for the film. It will have editing by Goutam Raju, art by Ashok and action by Stun Shiva. The supporting cast will include a horde of comedians.

Legendary Actress Bhanumati Is No More
Actress, director, producer, writer, music director and singer Padmasri Bhanumati, who was suffering from diabetes, passed away Saturday, December 24 after a prolonged illness leaving behind a volume of work that will always live on. She was 81. She breathed her last at about 11:45 pm, her son Bharani said. The last rites will be performed on Sunday, December 25. Suresh Kondeti To Dub 'Auto Shankar' In Telugu
Suresh Kondeti, who is on a high after the success of 'Premiste', has now acquired the dubbing rights of 'Auto Shankar', a Kannada film starring Upendra and Sushmitha Sen. The original version, produced by Ramu, completed 100 days on December 16 in over 37 centers. Ramu is the husband of noted actress Malasri. In a single theatre in Bangalore alone, the film has collected a share of Rs. 85 lakhs.

Aditya Music has acquired the music rights of Allu Arjun's much awaited film - 'Happy'. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music. 'Hi Subrahmanyam', the Telugu dubbed version of the Tamil film 'Pambara Kannale' starring Sriram, Aarti Agarwal and Namitha, is scheduled to release in January 2006. After Konda's sudden and untimely demise, the question on everyone's lips is, who will step in his shoes to complete 'Clean Bowled'? It is learnt that G Ravikumar Reddy, the producer of 'Clean Bowled', has confirmed VN Aditya to direct the film. The shooting will now resume from Thursday, December 15 and will be released on December 29 this year. The film stars Raja, Rajeev Kanakala, Siva Balaji, Saloni, Archana and Suhasini. The makers are also contemplating on changing the title of the film to 'Kokila'.
'Annavaram' To Roll On Dec. 15
Mega Supergood Films Pvt. Ltd.'s 'Annavaram', starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead, is all set to roll on Thursday, December 15. Suriya, who is on a roll with 'Ghajini', is all set to turn a producer. There is news that he is all set to launch his banner (Studio Green) and start his first production soon. Suriya has decided to cast Bhoomika Chawla and Jyotika as the female leads. He will be introducing a new director, Krishna, with this movie. RGV Planning A Sequel To 'Shiva'
Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is planning a sequel to his immensely successful directorial debut 'Shiva'. 'Anna Tangi' In Telugu
Mega Supergood Films P. Ltd. has bought the remake rights of the Kannada hit 'Anna Tangi' starring Shivrajkumar (son of Kannada superstar Rajkumar) and directed by Om Sai Prakash. This was announced by the executive producer Vakada Apparao. The film was released five weeks ago and is doing well at the box office. It is expected to collect Rs. 15 crore. The star cast and the technicians are to be finalised.

A Busy Year Ahead For Srikanth
2006 is going to be a busy year for Srikanth. To start with he has Suresh Productions' next venture, in which he teams with Venu once again. Vijayendra Prasad will direct the film. Srikanth and Venu have starred together in 'Pellam Oorelthe'. Next on the list is writer-turned-director Ram's debut directorial venture to be produced by an NRI. Ram has penned the story of Sana Yadireddy's 'Abhimani'. Srikanth also has a film each with Gosangi Subbarao (Manamiddaram, Bhavani, Sivudu) and G Nageswara Reddy (6 Teens, Girl Friend, Good Boy). Ravi Malakapalli will make his debut as music director with G Nageswara Reddy's film.
Shashank's Next Film - The Details
Producer Ch Ramachandra has signed Nandi award winning actor Shashank (Aithe, Sye, Anukokunda Oka Roju) to play the lead role in his debut production. A young director Chakravarthi will make his debut with the film. The heroine and other cast is yet to be finalized. More details are awaited.
'Sarada Saradaga' Nearing Completion
SV Krishna Reddy's 'Sarada Saradaga' is nearing completion and the movie will be released for Sankranti 2006. 'Sarada Saradaga' has Ruthika, Sindhu Tolani and Pranathi playing the female leads opposite Rajendra Prasad, Srikanth and Siva Balaji. Most of the talkie part had been completed. Two songs will be shot in Germany from December 16.

'Jai Chiranjeeva' Postponed To 21st Dec.
Though the release of megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Jai Chiranjeeva' was fixed for December 14, the film has been postponed by one week. The film will now hit the theatres on December 21. Made under the banner of Vyjayanti Movies, the film is produced by Aswini Dutt and directed by Vijayabhaskar with music by Mani Sharma. It has Bhoomika Chawla and Sameera Reddy as female leads.
Raviteja's Next To Roll On Dec. 11
Producer ML Kumar Chowdary's next film, starring Raviteja and Anushka in the lead, will be launched on Sunday, December 11. Successful director SS Rajamouli will direct the film. Music is by MM Keeravani and Vijayendra Prasad writes.
VV Vinayak-Prabhas Together
Prabhas is on a roll, post 'Chatrapati'. It is learnt that P Ravindra Reddy (brother-in-law of CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy) has signed him for his debut production. The story discussions are under way for the film to be directed by ace director VV Vinayak. VV Vinayak is currently busy with Lakshmi (Venkatesh, Charmme, Nayanatara), while Prabhas is busy with MS Raju's 'Pournami'.
Shekkar Suri To Direct Rajasekhar
Shekkar Suri (of 'A Film By Aravind' fame) will direct Rajasekhar in his next film. Pratani Rama Krishna Goud (who earlier produced the Udaykiran starrer Jodi No. 1) will produce the film. The story discussions are underway after which the final crew would be finalised.
Srikanth-Venu Together Again
Srikanth and Venu have been teamed once again. They have starred together in SV Krishna Reddy's 'Pellam Oorelthe'. D Ramanaidu will produce the film under his Suresh Productions banner, while noted writer Vijayendra Prasad, father of director SS Rajamouli, will direct the film. It will star three heroines. Rambha and Sangeeta have been already been signed for the film. Another heroine is yet to be finalised. It will have music by MM Srilekha and will be launched on January 1st, 2006.
Neelakanta To Turn Producer
National Award-winning director Neelakanta (Show, Missamma, Sada Mee Sevalo) is planning to turn producer. The film, to be directed by Neelakanta himself, will introduce a new hero Ajay Varma. Also, the film is titled 'Nandanavanam', with its tagline being, '120 KM'. It will have cinematography by PG Nanda and music by Vijay (both making a debut with the film) and will be launched on January 7th, 2006. Parvataneni Nagendra would be the executive producer of the said film.
Ghazal Srinivas To Turn Director
Ghazal Srinivas, who made his debut in Jandhyala's 'Vichitram', is now all set to turn director. He was last seen in Shekkar Suri's 'A Film By Aravind'. Popular production house Suresh Productions will produce the film. The film will have an all-new cast and it will be launched in January 2006.
Nitin's Next Titled 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram'
'Satyam Shivam Sundaram' - this is the title of the latest movie starring Nitin in the lead role and directed by noted Malayalam director Siddique. B Srinivasa Raju is the producer. The shooting of the film, launched recently, is currently going on in Hyderabad.

Telugu Remake Of 'Tirupacchi' Titled 'Annavaram'
'Annavaram' - this is the confirmed title of the Telugu remake of the Tamil hit 'Tirupacchi'. The film will be directed by Bhimineni Srinivasa Rao and jointly produced by RB Chowdary, Paras Jain and NV Prasad under the banner of Mega Supergood Films Pvt. Ltd. Ramana Gogula, who had composed the music for Pawan's 'Thammudu', 'Badri' and 'Jhonny', will score the music of 'Annavaram' as well. The film will roll on December 4 with a song recording, while principal photography will begin on December 15.
Pawan In 'Sivakasi' Remake
Pawan Kalyan has been signed to play the lead role in the Telugu remake of the Tamil hit 'Sivakasi', starring Vijay, Asin and Nayanatara. AM Ratnam who produced the Tamil version will produce the Telugu version as well. Jonnalagadda Srinivasa Rao might direct the film.
'Sri Sri' Launch On December 31
The winning combination of 'Arya' – producer 'Dil' Raju, director Sukumar and Allu Arjun – team up again for 'Sri Sri'. Shooting for the film will commence on December 31st, 2005. It will have cinematography by Ratnavelu. The pooja was performed for the film recently. More details are awaited

Asin In The Telugu Remake Of 'Tirupacchi'
It is reliably learnt that Asin has been signed to play the female lead opposite Pawan Kalyan in the Telugu remake of the Tamil hit 'Tirupacchi'. Poonam (of 'Modati Cinema' fame) or Sandhya (of 'Premiste' fame) might play Pawan Kalyan's sister in the film. To be produced by the Mega Supergood Films Pvt. Ltd. banner, the film will be directed by Bhimineni Srinivasa Rao, who earlier directed Pawan in 'Suswagatham'.
Sirivennela Sitaramasastry To Turn Director
The grapevine is abuzz with speculation that noted lyricist Sirivennela Sitaramasastry will turn a director shortly. He is the highest paid lyric writer in the Telugu film industry now. It is learnt that he is currently working on the script. It is yet to be known whether he will produce the film himself or will go for an outside producer.
