Konidela Venkatrao, father of Chiranjeevi, expired at his residence on Monday (December 24) morning. He is survived by his wife, three sons [Chiranjeevi, Nagababu and Pawan Kalyan] and two daughters [Vijayadurga and Madhavi]. He was 76 and was suffering from heart ailment for the past few years.
His body is placed at Plot No. 161 in MLA Colony, Jubilee Hills. Several film and political personalities, including Balakrishna, Chandrababu Naidu, Ramanaidu, K. Raghavendra Rao and MS Reddy, have expressed grief over the death of Konidela Venkatrao.
Konidela Venkatrao, whose hometown is Mogaltur in West Godavari district, played small roles in films like Jagat Kiladeelu, Kiladi Bullodu and Mantrigari Viyyankudu. He worked in various capacities in the Excise Department and retired as an Excise Superintendent in Nellore.
"The last rites will be held in Hyderabad this evening," informed Nagababu.
