Vasu, who earlier directed Tamil superstar Rajnikant in the superhit Chandramukhi, will direct another Malayalam remake with Rajnikant once again. Kavithalaya (K. Balachander's production house) will produce the film. The film would be the remake of last year's Christmas release Katha Parayumbol, directed by M. Mohanan and starring Mammootty, Meena and Sreenivasan in the lead roles. Sreenivasan has penned the script himself. Rajnikant will play the role played by Mammootty in the original. The makers are looking at a June-July 2008 release. Shankar's Robot, to be produced by Ayngaran International (an Eros International company), will follow next. Shankar's favorite AR Rahman will score the music.
