Venkatesh and TrishaAfter a super successful Lakshmi early last year, Venkatesh is back. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for this much-awaited flick, and after Jagadam and Munna, AMAV seems to be the movie for Telugu film enthusiasts to watch out for. But the music is not really fabulous, as one would expect it to be. It is not a disappointment, yet the music hasn't exactly come up to the expectations. Overall, it is an (above) average album, and nothing more than that.

Yemaindhi Ee Vela This one starts with a question-'Can you feel the love..?' and Udit Narayan's soft yet powerful vocals begin. This song is extremely soft and romantic, with slow rhythmic beats. The lyrics are simple and sweet, with the focus on the guy's lady love all through. ***1/2

Cheli Chamaku Okay, this one starts with questions too, this time by a female voice. Basically it's a bar scenario, and ends with the on-your-face 'Your place or mine?'. Adnan Sami, Yuvan's old favorite, along with Anuskha (of 'Mila Mila' fame) starts off the dance number. Swetha and Yuvan Shankar Raja also join in the vocals, and the song has a good instrumental score. Fun and 'fast' dance number. ***.25

Allantha Doorala SP Balasubrahmanyam lends his legendary voice to this song after a long time. The rhythm of this slow paced number is akin to folk beats and has that rustic and earthy feel to it. **.75

Naa Manasuki This song is an inspiration from two international numbers-but not a direct lift. Karthik and Gayathri suit this casual and breezy duet well. Again, in this song, the instrumental part dominates as much as the vocals. ***

Venkatesh and TrishaO Baby This better look really good on screen, because the fun element this youthful number aims at doesn't come through while listening to it. Haricharan, Jenny, Mathangi and Bhargavi are credited for the playback. While the vocals and the music are not flawed, the exuberance is not felt in this number. **.75

Manasa Manninchamma Remember 'Cheliya Cheliya' in Nagarjuna-starred Manmadhudu. This song is slightly reminiscent of that song, in terms of content and emotion. Karthik's vocals are intense, and the music is super fast and has Arabic and Thai undertones in it. ***

Last Word 'Yemaindhi Ee Vela', 'Cheli Chamaku' and 'Naa Manasuki' stand out in the album, while the other songs are hummable too. The music and the movie have to support each other, and the fate is inter-dependent. For now, just to hear, the album is okay. Not disappointing, but forgettable.
