Average Fare
APK | March 29, 2007
Rating: **.5 (***** Very Good, **** Good, *** Fair, ** Average, * Bad)
The Kitakitalu team is back, this time with a new music director. Sri Krishna makes his debut in this romantic comedy, and for a first timer, he's definitely not bad. Though he has miles to go, the music is just about average with one or two 'inspirations'. For a movie which is focused more on the comedy aspect of it, the music seems pretty adequate.
Shake Byke This is a direct lift from Sean Paul's 'Get Busy'. The focus is on hip-hop and rap, and no new creativity is shown by the new composer, at least with this number. Jonnavitthula gives lyrics suitable for the music and Jassie Gift and Noyel lend their voices in praise of the girl's beauty. Though it is not bad to hear, no points for originality. **
Amrutha Varsham La Chitra and Harish Raghavendra sing this beautiful romantic duet. Jonnavitthula pens the lyrics again for this soft and melodious song. ***
Ee Chali Galullona This song sounds like it is straight off those 90s numbers, with colorfully clad chorus dancers exercised along with the lead pair (or 'danced'). Suddala Ashok Teja pens the lyrics for this number, which sounds pretty average. Nothing fresh or interesting, and Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghosal are wasted in this track. **
Ra Ra Ante This is an intense number, with lyrics by Ashok Teja and Shreya Ghosal and Karthik with the playback. **.75
Nee Pai Manasu A peppy number full of youthful energy. A medium paced dance song, the theme is casual and dreamy. Sai Sriharsha's lyrics are adequate-ditto vocals by Tippu and Suchitra. **.75
Last Word Shake Byke is a copy, and Ee Chali Galullona sounds pass´. Apart from that, Nee Pai Manasu and Ra Ra Ante are good, with Amrutha Varsham La being the best of the lot. It is an average album, but for a debut composer, Sri Krishna shows potential. Since the movie is not a musical, and is banking more on the cast and comedy, it is passable.
