Bhadradri stars Srihari, Raja, Gajala and Nikitha. The album has music by Mani Sharma, but not up to his usual standards. The director Mallikarjun earlier directed Abhimanyu, Nandamuri Kalyanram's second film.
My Dear Now this genre of songs is becoming quite popular in recent Telugu albums, starting from Athadu or so. And Sharma seems to be a pro at churning out these youthful, we-are-going-to-paint-the-town-red numbers. Of course, Ilayaraja gave songs like 'Jagada Jagada' and 'Raaja Raajadhi' long, long ago. Right now Mani gives your money's worth with 'Jagadame' in Pokiri to now 'My Dear' in this album, with Ranjith at the playback. First remains best, and 'My Dear' is quite okay but sounds a little like all the others. **.75
Srihari Srihari's got a lot of recognition in the recent past, and now he's got a song of his own. Bhaskarabhatla pens the lines while Tippu and Usha render this smooth duet. It's not bad, but except for a nice little instrumental interlude with strings, the song doesn't exactly impress. **.75
Ringaringa Rose Nothing to write home about. What do you expect, with a song that starts off with Ringaringa Rose, and trying to find stuff to rhyme with it? Not happening. Song courtesy Anantha Sriram and Rita-Ranjith at the mike. The song sounds vaguely familiar, but it's not worthy of repeat hearing, so you'll not really figure out where the inspiration came from. **
Gorinka Gorinka Vijay Yesudas renders this rural-sounding soft number. Nice playback, Sai Sriharsha pens in the lines and Sharma lays off the keyboard. It doesn't sound like a Mani Sharma number though. It sounds like the poor cousin of 'Pachani Chilukalu' from Bharateeyudu. This is one of those songs which are easy on the ears, but totally forgettable. **.75
Pitta Nadum Ah, the Item Number is here. We've heard this one before, and surely it will make it in the Top 100 item numbers of…this year. **.75
Last Word There are times when Sharma's potential is properly unleashed, and sometimes when it's not. Bhadradri belongs to the latter category. Highly disappointing fare this time, with not one song worth pressing the repeat button for. Hopefully, the movie's better than the music (like Krishna, to quote a recent example). The songs are not bad, but that's the best you can say about them.
