Audio Review - Chatrapati

A Vacchi B Pai Vaale Sung by Keeravani and Matangi with lyrics by Chandra Bose.
The song builds up an atmosphere of love and romance. Matangi and Keeravani sing this song. It is quite a smart song that has between the lyrical lines, long spells of instrumental rhythm and melody that simply dominate the song. This is more exciting than the vocal music.
Agni Skalana Sung by MM Keeravani, Matangi, Manjari and others with lyrics by Siva Sakti Dutta.
It starts like the chanting of mantras. This must have been written for a serious scene.
Summama Suriyaa Sung by Kalyani Malik, Sunitha, Smitha and Neeraja Pandit with lyrics by Chandrabose.
I like you - Promise – Ramayya Vastavayya – are the many words uttered by different voices in the group sing. There is another voice that breaks the rhythm too. 'Ardharathri mania', 'Thank you Suriyaa', 'I love you Suriyaa', and 'Summa Summa' are the combination of words frequently heard. The song appears to be a magic of word play – all contributing to the song which is nothing but mutual admiration between a boy and a girl. The words dominate the musical part.
Nallanivannee Sung by Chitra with lyrics by Veturi.
This is the only meaningful song in the entire set. It appears as if this song was meant to be played at crucial juncture of the drama. The song is a sad account of a woman explaining how she has been cheated by a man whose child she bears now. She sings it as if to assure the to-be-born child that she would never repeat the mistake. This is well tuned and rendered expressively by Chitra.
Mannela Thintiviraa Sung by Tippu, Smitha and Kalyani with lyrics by Siva Sakti Dutta.
To this song an epilogue has been added with comical touch addressing a 'Pasalapudi Pamkajam'. It is a comic song and has the potential of becoming popular in the rural areas especially of the Godavari districts. The names of all the sweets and fruits popular especially in East Godavari district figure in the text of the song. 'Nenu mannu tinalede talli' is the connecting line which links the names of mithais and pallu. It is an enjoyable song with a mass appeal. The lyrical line asks child Krishna what made him eat 'Mannu' (earth), when there are delectable sweets available, and the occasion is taken to recount the list of the fruits and sweets in the song.
Gundusoodi Sung by Keeravani and Suneetha with lyrics by Chandra Bose.
A song with double meaning. The very word 'Soodi' suggests something obscene. 'Pagati puta okasari and ratrivela pratisari' is enough to make you understand the message of the song.
Gala Gala Gala Sung by Chitra and Neerappil Jessie Gift with lyrics by Chandra Bose.
The male singer is unknown and the song is suggestive of obscenity. 'Grandha saangive', 'Guruguru chupulu', 'Kontekonangi' and so on make it sound a folk number. The end line of the song says that a man is waiting with the galla lungi he is wearing for her sake. This one summarizes that all these songs are meant to kick up the sexy mood of young audience.
