Nagarjuna has taken a liking to Raghava Lawrence. That much is evident. After starring in his first directorial venture, Mass and even appearing in a cameo in Style (along with Chiranjeevi), now Lawrence is directing-choreographing-composing the music for Don. As far as the music goes, it doesn't seem like a debutant composer has done the job. That being said, the music is not earth-shattering, although it has its merits.

Su Su Suriyana Shankar Mahadevan renders this number in his trademark energetic style. This has lines like 'Wish you happy birthday to you', but that must be to enhance the 'mass flavor' which people would expect from the director-actor jodi. It's a total dance number. ***

Intha Andanga Unnave Harish Raghavendra sings this solo number which is about the guy being smitten by a lovely girl. **.75

NagarjunaMudde Pettu Harish Raghavendra again, with Saindhavi giving him company. Another rustic number that can be easily mistaken for an item song. Lyrics by Chinni Charan are pretty straightforward, as the title suggests-the entire song is about that, rounding off with a 'Muaaah' for good measure. The Telugu version of Tarkan's 'Kiss Kiss'? Far from it. **1/2

Yedho Undile The tone, the atmosphere the music creates, the pace and the entire song somehow reminds you of 'Aaj Ki Raat', even though the song doesn't sound the same. Of course, it has nothing to do with the Hindi versions, but for this song only, a similarity exists. Suchitra and Viswa's breezy voices are largely responsible for setting that mood-upbeat and classy. ***

Neekai Nenu Hariharan and Rita lend their voices for this sleepy duet. Hariharan's totally wasted in this song, the very title of which is enough to put you off. We've had enough 'Neeku nenu, neekai nenu, nenu nuvvu, neeku nenu naaku nuvvu' and various other permutations and combinations in the 'you and me' category. So this song basically makes you sleep and lacks a millimeter of freshness. Good for the habitual insomniac. **

Dada Puttistha Mahadevan again in one more 'Mass song' (as it declares in the beginning) which is a peppy, fast dance number. It has some similarities with the title number from 'Mass', especially the instrumental towards the end. ***

Last Word The movie bears no resemblance to the Hindi Dons. The album has a total of six songs with Su Su Suriyana and Dada Puttistha being the true-blue enthu dance numbers, Mudde Pettu having the traditional and mandatory 'Item' sounds and two romantic numbers and a classy club song to round it off. The music is not bad, and doesn't let the movie down. It might not be the highlight, but is definitely not unsatisfactory.
