Homam stars Jagapathi Babu and Chakravarthy along with Mamta Mohandas and Madurima. It has music by Nitin Baba along with Chakravarthy who seems to be keen to don as many caps as possible. Homam is rumored to be a copy of Departed.

Ye Pagale Chakravarthy didn't restrict himself to accompanying Nitin Baba with the composition. He renders the opening song of the album, along with a husky voiced Shivani who is also required to mouth a number of abuses and profanities, starting from 'Ye Pagale, Ye Howle…' with a stretch of Telugu 'Titlu'. It sounds like an Item Song (the mandatory song) with amateurish lyrics by the usually profound Suddala Ashok Teja and even more amateurish music by the duo. Not to mention a chorus inspired from 'Hare Krishna Hare Ram'. **.75

Hey Mister Ninne Again, a broken 'Hey (pause) mister (pause) nine…' hip-hop like beat rendered by Mamta Mohandas, Nihal and Shivani. Suddala's lyrics are situational and conversational, with quick repartee between the male and female voices. They are not abusing one another in this number, but still fighting. But the song sounds like they were keen on the tune and the lyrics, and somehow hoped to mix and match. Didn't totally work out though. **.75

Jagapathi BabuPedavikem Kasiro Two of the leads have already chipped in their bit with the album, now Jagapathi Babu cannot be left out. So he gives his voice to the song, with some wordings at the beginning and in the middle of the song. Both Mamta and Chakravarthy also lend their voices to the song. It's a passion filled number. Suddala gives Telugu lyrics and Hindi wordings for Jagapathi. An okay number as far as seduction numbers go, but not great. **.75

Magaallu Mee Matalo Madhu Sri and Chakravarthy sing the boys versus girls number with a lot of conviction. This sounds like one of those songs from the 'Money' series which also starred Chakravarthy. Suddala gives his signature lyrics. ***

Katti Naaku Gucchadammo Malathi renders another Item-ish song, which is rustic and has 'teen-maar' throughout. Surely will make it in the list of the Top 8500 Item numbers of this year. Not in the first 500 though. **

Jagapathi Babu and Mamta MohandasHomam Yuddam With war chants and Maharastrian folk beats, the song is definitely intense and Vinod Rathod does a good job with the playback. The chorus is equally pepped up. ***

Last Word Average fare. That's about it. If it's really a copy of departed, the kind of music provided matches the tone of that movie-or at least a Telugu-ised version of it. Still, Chakravarthy's musical debut along with Nitin Baba is just on the border of tolerable, but not completely enjoyable.
