Rating: ***.5 (***** Very Good, **** Good, *** Fair, ** Average, * Bad)

RavitejaAfter the super success of Vikramarkudu, Ravi Teja is back, and so is Keeravani with another mass riot. This has the usual dance numbers, mass numbers, romantic duets-so what's new? Nothing much, but it's not bad. Predictable, but not boring.

Lovvu Chese Vallaki After Bulligownu in Ranam and College Papala in Vikramarkudu (comparisons are inevitable), there is one more conversational, mischievous number which starts off with 'Love chese vallakemo kolatam, love set chese vallakemo janjatam'. It has Venu Madhav narrating in the interludes like a traditional 'katha' narrative, talking about Das's love story. Interesting, not fantastic, but it might be fun to watch it on screen. ***

Vestaavaa It's almost like MM Kreem waits for a chance to show exactly how dear to the masses he is-in fact, how he himself is 'mass', given a choice. High time we define it-suggestive lyrics, voices that go with it, very Indian/Andhra beats. This song has all that. ***

Doma Kudithe Tailor-made for Ravi Teja. This song is fast, maybe a little too fast with typical 90s chorus and many whistles, along with drum-beats working into a frenzy. Should have known that Tollywood will cash on to chicken gunya soon enough. The lyrics: 'Doma kudite chicken gunya, prema kudite sukam gunya..'. I can already see the color papers thrown religiously onto the big screen. ***.5

IleanaBujji Bujji Paapaa The best thing about Keeravani is that even when he is 'inspired' from Hindi or international music, he never makes it too obvious, and always mixes it all together. So much so, that even if the tune and certain parts of the song sound familiar, all we can do is rack our brains to locate the source, but it is never profound and never a direct lift.

This song has a shadow of an old Hindi song (Aaja aaja main hoon pyaar tera from Teesri Manzil) and an English number. It also incorporates the song 'Nenu Puttanu' from the yesteryear hit Prem Nagar in between. It has a catchy and hummable tune, and the rhythm is really good. ***.5

Maatante Maateraa It starts with the tune of an Indianized version of 'Toxic' (Britney Spears) and then the lyrics take over, '..Manchodni kaduroi mandu kottaka'-so you get the general idea. He talks about a number of things, from why people learn English to why they learn Computers. ***.25

Aa Gaganamlo The guitar beats are straight from a popular english album, but the song has the inimitable Kreem's touch, with a man rapping in the background softly. This one is a romantic number, with fresh and lilting music. ***.5

Last Word If the stills and the music are anything to go by, then the movie is oriented at the masses. While the music, by itself, is good enough, it is not really Khatarnak. Still, the foot-tapping numbers and the fast beats will make sure the album flies off the shelves-rest depends on how the movie fares.
