Anil R. is the composer for Ninna Nedu Repu, which is his fourth album after Hyderabad Nawabs, Sambhavami Yuge Yuge and Gamyam. This has undertones of 7/G Brindavan Colony, which also starred Ravikrishna. NNR co-stars Tammanna (of Happy Days fame) and Akshara. This bilingual has songs that tell a story, and push the screenplay forward. The compilation has songs to suit every mood, and overall is nice and easy on the ears.
Vayasu Theliyani In 7/G, there is a song about youth and their lifestyles Mem Vayasuku Vachcham and Vayasu Teliyani picks up where it ends. Krishna Chaitanya's lyrics cram in as much information as is possible to rhyme and tune. Ranjith and Nitin render the song straight from the heart. The song is peppy and alive, with that unmistakable bilingual air about it. Nevertheless, a good start to the album. ***.25
Oohallo This is a lilting tune rendered by Gautham Bharadwaj with Harshika giving him company. Veturi pens in lyrics describing the feelings of the smitten lover. This is a short and sweet song, possibly used in the background in the crucial boy-meets-girl moment. ***.25
Jill Jill Jawani Starting off with that Arabic touch, heavy drums and husky Sayanora's vocals, the song stays true to its title. Veturi pens in lines meant for (the compulsory) 'Item Number', where Priya joins the playback somewhere to form a rich chorus. A dark, intense and somber number with interesting instrumental and apt playback. ***
Ninna Nedu Repu The lyrics and melody has been composed by Krishna Chaitanya and rendered by Deepu. The title track also feels like it plays more in the background, with unassuming charm and depth to it. Deepu has given a very good rendition that deserves a mention. ***
Thadi Vedi Ranjith and Harshika sing this duet, with highly romantic and dreamy lyrics by Veturi. With a nice playback and a catchy tune, the song is sensuous to the core. This is one of those songs that catches your fancy right away, and grows on you each time you listen to it. The composition and voice quality is very good in this song. ***1/2
Searching Of Life (Theme Music) The theme music has two international lifts (also used by Pritam in the title song of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 'Hare Krishna Hare Ram'). A good composition, albeit 'inspired'. ***
Last Word All moods and emotions are more or less covered in the album, and Anil R. makes a nice start. An album that's worth your while to listen to; if you liked 7/G Brindavan Colony, you are sure to like this.
