Jyotika and Bhoomika are favorites here, and although it's a dubbed movie, Nuvvu.. Nenu.. Prema is a much awaited release, and Rehman's music has already topped the charts. Ammadini Chusesthi A folk number, possibly a wedding song-as it reminds one of 'Yede Yedede Vayari Mogudu' in Sakhi, another Rehman number. It has a strong rural south Indian (read Tamil) flavor to it, and sounds nice. ***1/2 Preminche Premavaa This is a beautiful number, one of the most melodious of the lot, with soft music and lyrics and an alluring chorus. Shreya Ghoshal was a Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner, a discovery of Rehman's assistant Ismail Durbar in Bhansali's Devdas; Naresh Iyer was a [V] Super Singer finalist, Rehman's discovery first heard in his hugely successful Rang De Basanti. Both the contestants prove their themselves yet again-looks like they've been competing with each other out of habit. Excellent vocals and a lovely and melodious tune. ***.75 Newyork Nagaram Rehman lends his soulful voice to this number. It is a melodious, soft number about Newyork (Obviously!). It speaks about the loneliness of the NRI-'Newyork nagaram nidaroye vela nene vontari'. Rehman adds his own voice to the music to elevate the beautiful song, which has lovely lyrics and a great repeat value. ***.75 Jil Jillumanna Prema Tanvi has a mischievous touch to her voice when she goes '..Chepalu cheyyava..Puvvulu cheyyava..Nuvvu cheyyava..Prema..’. So everything falls in love. So will you, with this fun and peppy number. The use of trumpet and Tanvi's voice modulations are pretty cool. ***.75 Maja Maja SP Charan and Shreya Ghoshal render this sensual song full of shifting beats, and an excellent chorus and tremendous use of drums. ***1/2 Bangaraani An item number-possibly. Good enough. *** Gaandharavam Keroleesa, Aslam, Krishna, Sayanora and broken glass-will wake you up to this heavy-duty number. **.75 And the verdict is.. Rehman's album-so the expectations are high. It's a decent compilation, with some catchy numbers and a variety to look forward to. Red hot couple Surya and Jyotika along with Bhoomika in the star-cast is attractive enough to draw the crowds, and Rehman's tunes are icing on the cake. The use of trumpet and drums, the perfect use of chorus and some superb vocals make this album one that you can listen to again and again. A good album-Rehman doesn't disappoint.
