Ready has good music. Not fabulous mindblowing stuff-let's be honest, when does that come out every second friday? But amongst this season's music, this will stand reasonably well. With a few inspired tracks and some Devi signature style music, the album is overall a decent compilation.
Get Ready The song has a Go-Getter attitude about it, with lyrics by Sirivennela and playback by Devisri and Karthik. A really good number for the background. ***
Ayyo Ayyo Danayya '..mee kurrallantha bakaragallayya..' says the girl and the guy retaliates by saying '..brain ae ledayya' referring to girls. A Boys Versus Girls number with playback by Franco, Priya and Benny, it starts off with a cheeky dialogue and continues in that vein. The sound quality and the general aura of the number is reminiscient of '5 Feet 8 Inches' of Ram's previous movie (also a Devi Sri composition) Jagadam. ***.25
Tu Tu Tu Shreya Ghoshal and Kunal Ganjawala sing in their ever-pleasant voices. There is a reference to 'Ha-Ha-Hasini' in the lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry. The feel of the song is overall very pleasing and makes a sweet little duet, very breezy and light. It sounds like a Hindi number of the 90s especially with the 'Sajna' word used repeatedly; a 90s number with a fresh touch to it. ***.25
Ninne Pelladukuni This number starts off with a quirky folk-ish chorus and continues with the energetic mood throughout. Ranjith and Kalpana render this number with lines by Ramajogayya Sastry. This has one instrumental interlude and then winds up with another brief instrumental bit. ***
Naa Pedavulu Sagar and Gopika Poornima sing to Sirivennela's lines. This is another romantic duet, the kind which Devi excels in, right from Nuvvu Nuvvu in Khadgam to Bommani Geesthe in Bommarillu. This is not as good as say Nuvvu Nuvvu, but along those lines. ***.25
Om Namasthe Bolo Neeraj Sridhar (of Bombay Vikings and Hare Krishna Hare Ram of Bhool Bhulaiyya fame) and Divya sing this refreshing number with a domineering background. Ramajogayya Sastry does a good job with the lines, and the number has a youthful exuberence about it's understated peppiness. It's a cool number, although heavily inspired from Soni De Nakhre from Partner. A good dance number, sure to top charts and great choice for playback, for this particular genre, Neeraj is an interesting voice to listen to. ***.5
Last Word Devisri's inspirations are pretty sublte, Ready is his signature style but thankfully not repetitive tunes mostly. The music sounds nice, has interesting subtext and peps up the interest in the movie with the situational numbers. Time will tell if the movie lives up to it, but the music is definitely an asset to the movie.
