Telugu music enthusiasts will know what makes Bapu's movie's music different from the others. Whether it is the pure situation of the song, the situational aspect of it, the purpose of the song that doesn't make you wonder why it came up suddenly. Then there is the old school mood to it. Whether the music is of a good or superior quality, it makes a good hear and has great staying power. Sundarakanda is a good album, versatile, hummable and melodious. It has music by Vidyasagar with Jonnavithula and Veturi penning the lyrics.

Yelu Yelo Ooyala If Bapu's movie's opening song contained rap or English lyrics or Techno, that would be disappointing. Predictably, but happily so, it is a true-blue Telugu number; the one that fills you with a familiar warmth. Jonnavithula's penned lines that are devotional and Vidyasagar churns out a lullaby that makes a good hear. Sadhana Sargam is at the playback. ***.25

Charmme and NareshOm Kaaram Chitra sings this 'Sound Of Music' type of song, and it might not be too much to say only she could have done it this way. Jonnavithula pens lyrics for this amusing number that are both simple and deep. Chitra starts off the song with a long intro before the actual singing starts with 'Om Kaaram Vankara, Srikaram Vankara..' and so on. Fun to hear, must be fun to watch. ***.5

Kalaganti A very emotional and touching number rendered beautifully by Chitra reminiscing about parents. The softer melody of the album, Veturi's lyrics pull your heartstrings if you pay attention. Chitra is in her element in this album, with Om Kaaram and now Kalaganti. Those that stay away from their families beware; it is a sure tear-jerker. Will have to see how it translates on the screen. ***.25

Aaku Vakka This is a song on marriage rendered by Sujatha and SP Sailaja. Veturi pens the lines for this Tambulam/Wedding song. The song dwells on a range of events and emotions. ***.25

CharmmeAm Phat Devudu 'Am Phat Devudandi…Eamcet Devudandi' so goes the finishing touch to Bapu's latest movie's album. SP Balu's presence somehow feels mandatory in this album. A very active chorus gives him company, and along with the instrumental, they make the number peppy. ***

Last Word The album has a typical Bapu touch to it, obviously. It lives up to expectations, with numbers that are situational, with a poetic touch and with lyrics that bring a smile to your face. Om Kaaram, Kalaganti, Aaku Vakka stand out in the album.
