'Godavari' Press Meet Held
The press meet of 'Godavari' was held on Wednesday, December 28 at Film Nagar Cultural Club. Producer GVG Raju, director Shekhar Kammula, actress Kamalini Mukherjee and the lead protagonist of the film Sumanth graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sekhar Kammula said, "My earlier film 'Anand' brought fame to everyone associated with it. This has created a kind of curiosity and speculation in the viewers for my next film 'Godavari'. My responsibility has increased manifold with the success of my first film. It is a film with a village backdrop. Veturi has penned the lyrics for all the numbers. Except for Sumanth, Kamalini Mukherjee and Bharani, all other artistes are stage actors."
Sumanth said, "I consider myself lucky to be a part of this film. Sekhar Kammula was very natural in his approach. I used to suggest some changes in the script for my previous films but I did not do any such thing for this film."
Kamalini Mukherjee said, "It's a kind of romantic comedy where I get to do something I've never done before. Ramu is the name of the character played by Sumanth in the movie, while my screen name is Sita Maha Lakshmi. Both the characters have relevance to the story. It has all the ingredients that appeal to the masses."
GVG Raju said, "We are planning to release the music in January, while the film will hit the theatres in February 2006."
Co-starring Neetu Chandra and Kamal Kamaraju, the film has music by KM Radhakrishna, cinematography by Vijay C. Kumar, editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh, action by Ram-Lakshman, choreography by Swarna and art by Kishore.
