I Love My Performance

Genelia and VenkateshGenelia, who made it big with her debut film Boys in Tamil and Telugu, bagged a good number of roles in a short span of time. She entered Bollywood with a bang. Her debut film Masti was a big hit. Last seen in Venkatesh-starrer Subhash Chandra Bose, Genelia is all set to prove her worth in a forthcoming film with Vishnu.

Are you satisfied with your last release Subhash Chandra Bose?

To some extent yes and to some extent no (laughs). I am very much satisfied with my work in the film and the way Venkatesh performed his role. But I am disappointed with the film's performance at the box-office. It couldn't quite meet the expectations we had set. The fate of the films is becoming increasingly unpredictable these days. We should do our best and leave the result to the audiences, who are better judges.

Vishnu and GeneliaHow confident are you about your forthcoming film with Vishnu?

I never lacked confidence even in my initial stages. I am proving it every time I do a film. I put my very best into everything I do. There are so many other factors apart from the artists performance that make a film hit.

You made your Bollywood entry with Masti but couldn't get more offers...

It was truly because I was totally busy with Tamil and Telugu films. The dates were clashing and also the offers from Bollywood were not worthy enough.

What do you mean not worthy enough?

The offers that came by weren't demanding my performance as an actress. The characterization was more focused on my looks rather than my talent.

GeneliaHave you got any more offers in Tamil or Telugu?

There are some but still in the pipeline. It will take some more time to declare.

How about your personal life?

It's cool. In fact I don't have time to think about myself (laughs). I am totally concentrating on my career.
