The combination of filmmaker Adurthi Subbarao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao have given many hits together like Thodi Kodallu, Mangalyabalam, Velugu Needalu, Iddaru Mitrulu, Chaduvukunna Ammayilu, Dr. Chakravarthy, Poolarangadu, Vichitra Bandham, Bangaru Kalalu, Adapettanam, Namminabantu, Manchi Manasulu, Sumangali, Sudigundalu, Maro Prapancham and Mahakavi Kshetrayya.

But the biggest hit of them all was Mooga Manasulu, released on January 30, 1964 and co-starring Savithri & Jamuna. The movie was produced by C. Sundaram under the banner of Babu Movies. Sri Films distributed the film.

Mooga Manasulu was also the first film of now renowned filmmaker K. Viswanath as an associate director, who till then was an audiographer. T. Krishna, another renowned director, was the editor of the film.

The film had a silver jubilee run in 9 centres, which was a record.
