Premalayam's Unbeatable Record
 Rajshri Pictures (P) Ltd.'s Premalayam, the Telugu dubbed version of the Bollywood hit Hum Aapke Hain Koun, set an unbeatable record at the box-office. Released on 2nd June, 1995, the film had a 175-day run at six theatres (Direct-5, Shift-1). This is a record for any dubbed film.
Specialties of the film:
- For the first time in India, the film was theatrically released with stereo optical prints.
- A single theatre had to shell out Rs. 9 lakhs to buy the equipment necessary to screen the film.
- It collected the highest single theatre gross at the following centres-
- Vijayawada (Rs. 54,91,762)
- Vizag (Rs. 52,67,819)
- Eluru (Rs. 21 lakhs)
- Rajahmundry (Rs. 23 lakhs)
- Kakinada (Rs. 24 lakhs)
The record was eventually broken.
- Tickets for the film were sold at special prices at select theatres.
- It ran for more than a year in two centres-Vijayawada and Vizag.
- It collected a Rs. 50 lakh plus gross in two theatres-Urvasi 70mm A/c (Rs. 54,91,762) (Vijayawada) and Dasapalla Chitralaya 70mm A/c (Rs. 52,67,819) (Vizag).
- In its 161-day run at Bhaskar Deluxe 70mm A/c, Guntur, the film collected a gross of Rs. 24,78,397.75.
- In its first release, the film had a 100-day run at 7 theatres (Direct-6, Shift-1).
