Vyjayanthi Movies' Rajakumarudu marked the debut of 'Superstar' Maheshbabu. And what a debut. Released in 116 theatres with 78 prints on July 30, 1999, Rajakumarudu, produced by C. Ashwani Dutt, presented by C. Dharmaraju, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and co-starring Preity Zinta, opened well at the ticket window and completed 100 days in as many as 34 centres.
It ran for 126 days in both Alankar (Vijayawada), where it grossed an amazing Rs. 57,86,671 and Bala Bhaskar (Guntur).
Rajakumarudu had music by Mani Sharma, cinematography by Ajay Vincent, story by Satyanand, dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers, editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, art by Srinivasa Raju and action by Vijayan.
It collected a whopping share of Rs. 71,02,400 in just 3 weeks in Krishna and Guntur combined. The breakup is as follows:
