Himesh Reshammiya started out giving music different from what we hear now from him, again and again. Once his jilted lover theme worked along with his nasal whine and lyrics swearing everlasting love, he continued it till date. And why shouldn't he, when his albums sell like hot cakes. Vijay Taneja decided to cash in on this midas touch, and 'Aap Ka Suroor'-The real love story was made. The movie is highly anticipated, both by his admirers and detractors. Read on.

Hansika Motwani and Himesh ReshammiyaPlot Himesh Reshammiya, playing himself, is in Germany giving a series of concerts when he falls in love with his event manager Riya (Hansika Motwani). His friend cum associate Sravan (Sravan) falls for Riya's friend Bani (Bani). He is this 'Indian Rockstar' and his world tour has all the sponsors vying for him. Khurana is an organizer who wants HR's contract, but does not get it. A reporter is killed in HR's residence and he is arrested for it. Meanwhile Riya's father (Sachin Khedekar) is keen on getting her married off to someone else. HR has limited time to prove his innocence.

Story, Screenplay and Direction The story has nothing to offer. It is a cross between a self-promotional tour and a murder mystery. Reshammiya's chart-bursting numbers are placed periodically and he lives the part of the 'Indian Rockstar'. The love angle has deceived many fans of his, who were perhaps expecting something out of the ordinary, since all his videos have a certain theme of lost love and the tag proclaims 'The real love story'.

The direction and acting, the script and the screenplay are all mediocre. Mallika Sherawat makes an appearance that serves no real purpose and the song 'Mehbooba' is played at the end, unrelated to the story. The first scene is lifted from the movie 'Mystic River', where Sean Penn shouts out for his dead daughter.

His fan base will like some parts in the movie, apart from the songs. Riya asks him why he doesn't smile often, and he tells her about his elder brother who expired with brain hemorrhage. The accusation that he is arrogant has been fired and he remains aloof, while there is a joke on his famous cap obsession and his nasal tone. Apart from that, the murder mystery part doesn't work and the love story is not the best we've seen.

Himesh Reshammiya and Hansika MotwaniJoke Of The Day: HR tells his friend 'Idhar Germany mein mera naak math kaatna' So his friend replies 'Naak Katgayi toh tu gayega kaise'.

Scene To Watch Out For: Himesh gets drunk and imitates Mithun Chakraborty.

Performance Himesh Reshammiya is stiff and morose, something we see anyway in his music videos. He lets loose for a scene or two; if he did that throughout the movie, it would have been good. But for a first movie, he is okay. Hansika Motwani debuts in Hindi (she did Desamuduru in Telugu) and she is still raw, but very charming. Mallika does her sultry act yet again.

Music and Dance Trademark Himesh numbers-love them or hate them, you cannot ignore them. 'Tera Bina', 'Tanhaiyan' and 'Assalaam Vaalekum' are the popular numbers.

Last Word Reshammiya's songs that one catches on the telly can be seen on the big screen. For Reshammiya's fans, questions are answered, songs are sung and oh yeah, we see a shot of him without his cap. The movie has nothing to offer as a movie for regular Cinegoers.
