Though the film is released a day after its scheduled release, it did not lose its initiative and demonstrated its sway on the audience. The film's subject deals with a broken vow by an educated rogue Venkataratnam (Prakashraj) and how he is taught a lesson by the young man Chandu (Ravi Teja), demonstrating combat and intellectual skills. This resulted in the construction of a bridge on a Godavari rivulet, near a village. Therefore the story is reduced to a war of words between Chandu and Venkataratnam and Chandu's war with rowdies. The film engages us only in the sub-plots, rather than in main theme. Ravi Teja and Prakashraj play these roles interestingly. Ravi Teja is the point of conflict, Prakashraj is counter point. And the latter is Chandu's uncle too.
Venkataratnam grew under the care of Bullabbai, played by Vijaykumar. Venkataratnam becomes an IAS officer and is posted to a place. Before he leaves, Bullabbai asks him to help the village by seeing to it a bridge over a Godavari rivulet be constructed, to mitigate the problems of the village. He puts a condition that he should not return to the village till he completes the job. Accepting it, he disappears. Even after twenty years he does not return. Venkataratnam leaves the IAS post and becomes a building contractor and makes millions. He dotes on his daughter Swetha (Shriya). Chandu goes to Venkataratnam to remind the promise he made to his father. But Venkataratnam insults him and brushes off all the eatables his father sent along with him to this man, Venkataratnam. Greatly hurt, Chandu challenges Venkataratnam that he would one day pull down Venkataratnam and sees to it he fulfilled the promise he made to his father. He then goes into a park by the side of Venkataratnam's house and sleeps on a bench. Swetha watches his activities and even videographs. She gets impressed and starts loving him.
Another building contractor (Nassar) helps Chandu to invest money in a work. Then he tames a Don (Jeeva) and takes his help too and becomes a very big contractor overnight. Then Swetha reveals that she is in love with him a but gives a different name, Mahalakshmi, to him. He learns that she is the daughter of Venkartaratnam, only in last act. When Venkataratnam commences to play mischief, Chandu uses his relationship with Swetha to blackmail Venkataratnam. At the same time he uses the media to project Venkataratnam as a man who gives money for charities. Finally he forces him to cough up money and the bridge is constructed with the financial support by the state government too.
The entire film got stuck up at the single point of the construction of the bridge. But there are many other scenes to entertain the audience. That includes scenes with Sunil and Venu Madhav and Shriya and Ravi Teja. There are plenty of one-sided fights, with Ravi Teja beating dozens of villains to pulp. Ravi Teja displays his usual approach of combining seriousness with lighter vein along with vile and wisdom in handling villains. Shriya looks beautiful and displays good histrionic sense. In other roles notable are that of Prakashraj and Vijaykumar. Prakashraj role runs throughout the film, parallel to that of Ravi Teja. The film takes audience into grip in many scenes. But when it comes to Ravi Teja playing 'tit for tat' game with villains, exaggeration takes upper hand. Yet the film can make us sit up and enjoy. Musically, Chakri contributes melody to a great extent.
