There is tag title – 'premalo paddadu' - that sounds a bit romantic. The entire concentration of the filmmakers appears to be on how to project Mohanbabu as romantic hero, recalling his young days. He looks quite aged in this film. But then there is a provision made in the story, to make him look young by applying lot of make up. This is because the heroine Charmi, who looks his daughter's age, is quite young. How come then, these two are brought together, for a while, in a drama that is titled as Political Rowdy. Indeed politics are there, but limited to a bomb blast taking the life of a sincere chief minister, a Gandhian type, who travels in buses to know people's woes. That one scene of this blasted bus makes provision for the election of a new chief minister. Vizag Prasad is the contestant and he could get into the saddle only with the support of the MLAs groomed by the so-called political Rowdy – Panduranga Vittal, Pandu (Mohanbabu) in short. There ends the political part. Now it is the turn of opposition leader Devaraj (Kota) to aspire for that post. There are a couple of long dialogue lines that provide general knowledge on political topics and statistics of political administration, where the government is failing. There ends the political Tamasha.
The film then switches on to the other side of the story – romantic drama, where the political rowdy Pandu thinks that a college girl, Kaveri (Charmi) is craving for him. But then how he changed from woman hater to woman lover is the question. He visits a college for its annual celebrations and was its patron donating some money. He presented Kaveri with a prize that she won on the debate. The topic is the relationship between man and woman. Till then Pandu is a confirmed woman hater. But after listening to the speech by Kaveri who summarized her talk saying that man and woman together can make a happy life, changes his mind. After coming home first thing he does is to call his brother Surya and seek his guidance as to how to go for a love affair. The sweet and mischievous talk by Kaveri directly and on phone makes him believe that she is in love with him. For her it is all fun. With the help of his brother and others he proceeds with his program of taking her as his wife. He hardly knows that she is already in love with Karthik (Abbas). They are about to marry and hasten the process, because of the threat posed by Pandu. Now he is hell bent upon marrying her. She reveals she is not interested. But he threatens that he would sure tie the mangalasutram even by force. Then there is a chase. Kartik and Kaveri run on to the terrace of a huge building. Kaveri literally begs him to be kind to her if he really loved her. And he proves in the end he is kind, by handing over the mangalasutram, which he keeps in his pocket, and also by saving Kartik's life, who was about to fall to the ground from the top.
For Mohanbabu it is an unusual role and at the same time meaningless one too. His dialogue is loaded with flat words. But fight scenes at the political front and crude romance at the love front dominate the scenes he played. Charmi proves no match to him. And her character is wrongly developed as one who preaches ideals on the one hand and then resorts to mischief of wrong kind. Her performance in the combination of Abbas does not click. As the entire love part is based on the political rowdy. Comedy is poor. Prakashraj and Ishwarya's is a namesake combination. Music is loaded with western beat and tunes. There is a bizarre song towards the end of which you cannot make head or tail. Photography of some scenes is average. The film falls short of expectations.
