Sobhan Babu's Mythological Film Sampoorna Ramayanam

The duo of Sobhan Babu and Bapu first came together in Buddhimanthudu (1969) after which they worked together in many films like Inti Gauravam (1970), Sampoorna Ramanayanam (1972), Jockey (1985) and Kalyana Tambulam (1987)-the biggest hit being Sampoorna Ramayanam, which earned both commercial success and critical acclaim.

Released on March 16th, 1972, the film, which was made under the banner of Lakshmi Enterprises, completed its 100 days at 10 theatres and was one of the year's top grossers.

The mythological film co-starred Chandrakala and SV Ranga Rao with a motley of supporting starcast including Jamuna, Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, Mikkilineni Radhakrishna Murthy, Pandaribai, Hemalatha, Kaikala Satyanarayana and Chittoor V. Nagaiah.
